Drachten, 26 June 2023 - Megahout in Drachten and Stora Enso Timber DIY in Amsterdam have reached an agreement on a joint future. Stora Enso Timber DIY, a producer and supplier of wood products to the do-it-yourself market and formerly part of the Stora Enso Group, will join forces with Megahout. This collaboration will enable both parties to better serve their customers based on product portfolio, geography, and capacity. The new group will become a leading player in the supply of wood to the housing construction, do-it-yourself, and agricultural sectors.

Hedzer Wester, investment manager at Quadrum Capital, is pleased with this step. "The strategic collaboration between Megahout and Stora Enso Timber DIY aligns with our ambitions to further invest in the wood market. We view this material as a crucial component in the trend towards more sustainable construction solutions."

"We are very pleased to have found a good home for our Amsterdam location. Megahout is in a better position to give the factory the attention it deserves and ensure its long-term development," says Lars Völkel, Executive Vice President of Stora Enso's Wood Products division.

The participation will take place through the Quadrum Evergreen Fund. This fund has an indefinite duration and focuses on the sustainable growth of enterprises with a long-term horizon. The fund is mainly financed by entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial families.

The transaction is subject to approval by the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).
